8:30pmEST | 7:30pmCST| 5:30pmPST
On Tuesday, August 7, the community received tragic news related to the recent turmoil which has befallen the family of Imam Siraj Wahhaj of Masjid At-Taqwa in Brooklyn, NY. Details related to the events are still unfolding, triggering shock and disbelief throughout the American Muslim community, both in person and online.
In the wake of these calamitous events, many are feeling a range and mix of overwhelming emotions - from anger, confusion and numbness - to grief, sadness, and utter devastation. It is important that we create a space in which we can begin to process the emotional impact of what has occurred and how to cope effectively moving forward. Muslim Wellness Foundation is committed to offering information and resources for those who are seeking support at this most difficult time.
Join us for a online dialogue as we discuss mental health and emotional well-being, the impact of traumatic loss and grief in the American Muslim Community, as well as coping strategies and resources for individuals, families and communities.
At Muslim Wellness Foundation, we acknowledge the depth and severity of this painful moment. We encourage everyone to make dua/prayer for the loved ones and community members directly affected. May Allah (swt) shower his mercy on the Believers and ease the suffering of hurting hearts and minds. Ameen.
